Netcomm Under Threat As Huawei Teams With Vodafone


	Their initial focus will be on the use of Huawei’s fixed and mobile connectivity bonding technology for new products, investigating the opportunities for in-building coverage systems, the development of new machine-to-machine module designs, and developing systems for Safe City, Internet of Things, and cloud data centres. The move could be bad news for Australian company NetComm: it has a long-standing agreement to supply M2M modules to Vodafone Global, and other major telcos. In May NetComm cited estimates from Machina Research that Vodafone would be the lead player in terms of global M2M revenues by 2022. Yan Lida, president of Huawei’s enterprise business group, said: “We aim to carry out joint innovations, integrate our ICT expertise and global resources, help customers cope with challenges and opportunities brought by the new industrial revolution, and push ICT transformation in the industry.”- Stuart Corner
