A new IDC survey shows that battery life is still the top
feature that people are concerned about when deciding which phone to buy. It
makes sense because smartphones are of little use when they suck juice.

Samsung is taking the attitude that the Exynos 7 Octa
processor is good enough for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy 6

The Snapdragon 810 was set to be the chipset of choice for
the majority of this year’s new smartphones due to be revealed at the 2010
World Mobile Congress in Europe in March.

But persistent rumours of overheating problems have shaken
Qualcomm’s dominant position.

Industry insiders, claim that that Qualcomm is frantically
developing an updated version of the SoC for Samsung to use.

The new release will be available to the Korean company in
March which is when Samsung is tipped to announce the Galaxy S6.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 is featured in a number of
already announced top-tier smartphones, including the LG G Flex2 and the Xiaomi
Mi Note Pro.
