	Justice Perram in the Federal Court said that, due to the lack of a public hearing thus far, the court would reject applications from ZDNet, the ABC, and the Australian Screen Association to access material that reveals the mechanism. It may be revealed however when the case brought by Dallas Buyers Club against several Australian ISPs, notably iiNet, gets its preliminary discovery application heard on February 17. The ISPs are resisting a demand by the Dallas group to reveal the identities of the IP addresses used to download the movie. According to a ZDNet report, it is believed that the Dallas Buyers Club connections made use of a system called Maverickeye UG. Maverickeye says its software makes it possible to detect as well as retrace copyright infringements and “provide technical evidence to illegal acts on the Internet”.
