Chinese component giant, Foxconn Electronics, is tipped to become the world’s largest TV ODM (original design manufacturer) this year, surpassing TPV Technology after increased orders from the likes of Sharp and Sony.

According to Taiwanese trade publication DigiTimesFoxconn is forecast to see its ODM TV shipments lift 3% [YoY] to 16.5 million in 2018.

By contrast, TPV Technology is expected to notch a 9% decline (to 15.3 million ODM TV shipments) driven by lower Chinese orders.

Fellow Chinese giant, TCL, is forecast to post the highest shipment growth, driven by boosted sales within China and other international markets.

TCL is tipped to notch a 25% shipment increase, notching 10.4 million units in 2018.

Analysts expect BOE to rank the world’s fourth largest TV ODM this year, with shipments tipped to climb 9% YoY to 9.5 million.
