HEOS has today rolled-out Google Assistant integration to its audio portfolio, with users able to control compatible speakers, multi-room systems and AV receivers via their voice.

Users can enjoy Google Assistant functionality by connecting any HEOS HS2 enabled product to a Google smart speaker, or via the Google Home app for Android/iOS.

Voice controls are currently restricted to skip, pause, resume and volume adjustment, with further functionality scheduled to roll-out next year:

Planned features – coming 2019:
  • Ask to play music (station/album/song/artist/playlist…)
  • Power on/off
  • Switching inputs
  • Implicit targeting (Control without the need of specifying the device name)

Unlike other products, Heos’ system allows users to control specific rooms via their voice (e.g. volume 55 in the living room).

Watch functionality in action below, with further information on HEOS’ voice control functionality available here.

Catering to all market segments, the news means all HEOS HS2 enabled products are compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri (Apple Airplay 2).
