Microsoft is reportedly working on a dual-screen ‘Surface’ product, taking on ASUS’ recently unveiled ZenBook Pro Duo and its two 4K touchscreens.

According to The Verge, Microsoft gave staff a sneak peek of the prototype device – code named ‘Centaurus’ – alongside a working version of xCloud.

The xCloud cloud gaming service seeks to stream games to PCs, consoles and mobile devices, with further information unveiled during its E3 event next week.

The rumoured dual-screen Surface is said to be a smaller version of Intel’s ‘Twin Rivers’ concept, as showcased at Computex 2018.

It does remain unclear whether the product will be a highly portable ‘tablet-sized’ device, or much larger.

The Verge claims Centaurus could be six months away from launch, however, it’s unclear whether the standard version will ship with Windows 10 or an in-development ‘Lite’ version.
