Samsung is rumoured to be preparing a launch for its affordably-priced Galaxy A12 smartphone sometime soon, following new leaks online.

The Galaxy A12 is tipped to be a replacement for the Galaxy A11, with the model numbers SM-A125F and SM-A115F respectively.

Reported by SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy A12 will be positioned as an affordable handset with storage options of both 32GB and 64GB.

In Australia, the Galaxy A11 sells for $299, with the addition of a 64GB Galaxy A12 variant a potentially compelling market option.

The new handset will reportedly feature an LCD screen plus triple camera system, and capacitive fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy A12 is tipped to harness a camera system similar to its predecessor; 13MP primary, 5MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensor.

The news comes as Samsung continues to gain robust traction for its A Series line, appealing to budget conscious consumers amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A51 was deemed to be the world’s best-selling Android handset in Q1Y20 according to Strategy Analytics.
