Samsung may bundle its new Galaxy Buds Beyond true wireless earbuds with new Galaxy S-range phones going forward, starting with the S21 series.

Galaxy Buds have been pre-order bonuses for the S series going back to 2019’s S10 and the original Buds, with this year’s S20 featuring the Buds+ as a pre-order incentive.

Korean site TopDaily has reported that Samsung is considering removing accessories such as the AKG USB-C wired earphones from the box, instead bundling the Buds with the phone itself in an effort to compete with Apple’s AirPods, according to an industry insider.

The Galaxy Buds Beyond – which have been patented in the US – are tipped to feature a number of improvements over previous models, including increased battery life, sound quality, and IP rating. This year’s Buds Live featured only IPX2 waterproofing, while the Apple AirPods Pro came with IPX4.
