Sonos’ next product is years late and is finally being delivered as the market for small portable speakers peaks.

Set to compete up against the likes of JBL, which dominates the category, and Logitech’s Urban Ears, the new Sonos Roam Bluetooth speaker measures 6.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches and is similar to the UE Boom and JBL Charge.

ChannelNews understands that it will be priced similar to their popular competitors.

At this stage Sonos hasn’t confirmed the existence of the Roam but the leaks appear to be deliberately as the US Company desperately tries to expand their audio offering which is set to include an optional ireless charging dock.

Tipped to cost $199 the same price as the JBL Charge it’s half the price of the Sonos Move which is a very average speaker.

The device will also compete with the Audio Pro Addon and Amazon’s Echo Studio.

Also set to be released by Sonos are a new pair of wireless headphones.
