Google is hanging a shingle for its Australian public sector cloud team at Adelaide’s innovation precinct, Lot Fourteen.

The search giant joins AWS and Accenture in committing to offices in the city in recent months.

Google plans to establish a hub for a Cloud Public Sector team, which will work with South Australian health and medical researchers. The hub will also be used as a training and event venue for its customers and partners.

The South Australian Government lobbied Google in 2018 to set up its Australian headquarters in Adelaide, but Google decided to retain its main bases in Sydney and Melbourne.

In February, Amazon opened its Lot Fourteen office in the site’s North Terrace, pledging to create 50 jobs by 2024.

In September last year, consulting giant Accenture said it would set up an Adelaide hub, creating 2000 local jobs.
