Melbourne based distributor Directed Electronics Australia, has been dumped by Sony after they were linked to the sudden exit of the Japanese Companies former head of consumer products.

The Sony business was believed to be worth over $30M a year to DEA with the business now concentrating on selling questionable Chinese Eufy security cameras and Chinese headphones from Anker.

Directed Electronics management are believed to have been directly linked with Abel Makhraz the former head of Sony Consumer Electronics Division who was “Suddenly walked to the door” late last year according to Sony insiders.

Makhraz seen below  had been with Sony since 2006.

DEA management have not commented but observers are claiming the move is a major blow for the business.

ChannelNews understands that all the Sony consumer business has now gone to Ingram Micro with Audio Active responsible for sales of the Companies Pro and top end display solutions spanning projectors and Sony premium TVs for custom installers.
