China’s antitrust regulator will formally block Tencent Holding’s plan to merge the nation’s top two videogame streaming sites, Huya and DouYu.

Tencent has apparently failed to meet the State Administration of Market Regulation’s (SAMR) requirements on giving up exclusive rights.

The internet giant recently withdrew the merger application for antitrust review and refiled it.

SAMR has since told the company it could not complete the review of the merger within 180 days of its first filing.

Separately, Tencent’s plan to take search engine Sogou private will be approved this month by SAMR, and the regulator is preparing to clear the plan.
