Samsung Display looks to start manufacturing for quantum dot OLED panels in the fourth quarter this year, according to UBI Research.

According to the report, Samsung will be producing roughly 90,000 65-inch, 4K resolution panels per month, using 30,000 sheets of 2200X2500mm substrates. UBI claim that the company is aiming to make a million QD-OLED panels within a calendar year.

A television using QD-OLED technology will debut at next year’s CES, with a first-half 2022 release date.
