Motorola has demonstrated new wireless charging technology that allows phones to be charged from up to three metres away, and can handle four different devices at once.

This charger sports a whopping 1,600 antennas, and covers an arc of over 100 degrees, which makes this the most effective phone charger we’re likely to see this year.

The charger can also handle slight obstructions such as cloth, meaning you just need to walk within range of this thing to have the phone in your pocket receive a charge.

This is an update on technology showcased at January’s CES, which could charge two devices from a metre away – which begs the question, how much further are Motorola planning to develop this technology before bringing it to market?
