The report, launched at the OTT Summit in Sydney yesterday, also says pay-TV
subscriptions should grow by 18.4 percent during the same period.

It notes that the recent boom in subscription video-on-demand services, driven
by the launch of Netflix, Stan and Presto, has been accompanied by a sharp rise
in network data traffic.

On the NBN, average monthly download usage rose from 73GB in March to 110GB by
September, up 51 percent in six months.

Ovum noted that streaming in HD only requires an average connection speed of
5Mbps, a target it said NBN will be well able to meet.
