In ads that have run in national and metropolitan newspapers, Telstra has prominently displayed the cost of a 16GB iPhone at $70 a month.
However, according to Choice, the ads say in small print, that an additional handset payment of $11 a month must also be applied, taking the cost to $81 and says this should be looked at by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission.
A Telstra spokesman said the telco was always careful to ensure the pricing and inclusions of its offers were advertised clearly.
