Intel has made two strategic purchases for use in developing connected cars of the near future. It has snapped up Yogitech, an Italy-based Internet of Things (IoT) start-up, and Arynga, a vendor of over-the-air software for use with connected cars.

Yogitech’s focus in the IoT arena has been on safe operations for advanced driver assistance systems, as well as robotic and autonomous machines for industrial and automotive use.

Arynga’s technologies are to be channeled via Intel’s Wind River subsidiary. They will help the industry continue to advance the connected car and autonomous driving, Intel said.
