Just shy of two months since it launched and sent Nintendo stocks spiralling upwards, it finally looks like Pokemon Go is losing its pull in the mobile gaming world.

Numbers out of research firms Sensor Tower, SurveyMonkey, and Apptopia all suggest that Pokemon Go’s daily active users, downloads, engagement, and average gametime per day are all on their way downwards.

Although the game’s playerbase is still quite large, the decline suggests the game has passed its peak and that maybe large-scale AR experiences like Pokemon Go lack sustainability.

If the game’s popularity continues to drop, it could affect the investment and development of similar augmented reality games of the same nature.

While the major content updates and additional features Niantic are currently developing will certainly draw some of the game’s launch audience back to the game, it’s unlikely to reach quite the same heights as it did last month.
