NBN Co is planning to extend its promotional 50Mbps price offer – which was due to end in April – through to the end of October. It says this should give retail service providers more time to prepare for a switch to a more permanent price system.

The company has revealed plans to create a “second promotion period” for its 50Mbps product and for the connectivity virtual circuit (CVC) discount that accompanies it.

NBN Co estimated that more than 1.2 million premises should be on the 50Mbps tier by June when the permanent construct system comes into effect.
