Aussies are about to get their hands on Huawei’s upcoming flagship, the P20 Pro with a date finally set for the Australian release, May 18.

Huawei says the P20 Pro will be available from its ‘local partners’ which have not been specified as of yet. The price has also not been released.

The P20 Pro has what the company claims is the world’s first Leica triple lens and highest pixel count in a smartphone with a f/1.8, f/1.6 and f/2.4 wide aperture. It also features a 40MP RGB sensor, a 20MP monochrome sensor and an 8MP sensor with an optically stabilised 3X telephoto lens. These combined with the master AI system’s over 500 scene recognition algorithms in 19 categories, according to Huawei.

The Chinese smartphone brand has also not disclosed when the P20 Lite and P20 if or when these two models will be available in Australia.

The P20 Pro and P20 have recently received two highest total scores ever from DxOMark for smartphones and are also the first two smartphones to achieve a three-digit score at 109 and 102, respectively. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S9 had a score of 99 and the Apple iPhone X was given a score of 97.

The P20 Pro along with the P20 Lite and P20 were unveiled last month in Paris.
