Activision Blizzard and the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission have settled the lawsuit over the gaming giant’s alleged culture of sexual harassment and discrimination.

As part of the settlement with EEOC, Activision Blizzard will compensate employees from a $AUD24.75 million restitution fund.

In addition, Activision Blizzard will “cease any discriminatory practices, retain a consultant to ensure compliance, upgrade its training and performance review processes to prevent future offenses, and submit to future EEOC audits”

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said in a statement: “We will continue to be vigilant in our commitment to the elimination of harassment and discrimination in the workplace. We thank the EEOC for its constructive engagement as we work to fulfill our commitments to eradicate inappropriate conduct in the workplace.”

Any funds not claimed by victims will be earmarked to “advancing women in the video game and tech sectors.”
