Renowned Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, claims Apple’s ‘affordable’ new iPhone will likely be delayed, citing major production issues. The Californian giant is tipped to launch three new iPhones this year – a base, mid-tier and premium variant.

Kuo expects the cheaper 6.1-inch model to launch in October, with the other two versions releasing September.

Disclosed by Kuo, leaked specifications reveal an LCD screen for the base 6.1-inch model. It’s also tipped to feature a single rear camera.

The 5.8-inch iPhone and premium 6.5-inch handset will reportedly feature dual SIM functionality and OLED screens.

Contrary to previous reports, Kuo claims none of this year’s iPhones will feature ‘stylus’ support – i.e. compatibility with Apple Pencil.

The new 5.8-inch device is said to direct succeed the current iPhone X, with a new chipset and camera system.

Wireless charging, FaceID and a ‘notch’ are tipped to feature in the three phones.

Consumers will have to hold their breath until Apple’s hardware unveiling event early September.

As previously reported, commentators predict Apple will use the event to release a ‘Pro’ iPad, new AirPods, AirPower wireless charger and new Apple Watch.
