Dell-owned Alienware has unveiled its thinnest, lightest gaming laptop yet, the new 15-inch ‘m15‘. The device will release worldwide on October 26th, and cost a comparatively affordable A$2799.
The m15 pledges portability without compromising gaming grunt, thereby taking on the likes of msi’s GS65 Stealth Thin – despite a notable price difference.
Aussies can access the new m15 first-hand at Alienware’s stand during PAX Australia 2018.
Dell ANZ GM Consumer and Small Business, Ben Jackson, asserts the device responds to local demand for a “premium, ultra-portable gaming laptop”:
“Our State of Gaming survey discovered that 43% of ANZ gamers love travelling and 60% love spending time with friends, so the demand for a premium, ultra-portable gaming laptop is there”
“With the new Alienware m15 being thinner and lighter without compromising on power and performance, gamers can be confident that their game-play on the go will not only be powerful, but comfortable as well.”
The company states the m15 is 51% lighter than the Alienware 17, and 38% lighter than the Alienware 15.
The m15 incorporates an 8th Gen Intel Core i9 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics, with an advanced cooling system from Alienware Cryo-Tech v2.0.
The laptop pledges 17 hours of battery life with an optional 90Whr battery.
The m15 is virtual reality (VR) capable, with storage options including; an Intel Optane SSD, PCIe M.2 and high capacity hybrid HDDs with 8GB solid-state memory.
