Amazon Australia has kicked off its end of financial year sale, slashing the prices of many consumer electronics products – some by 44%.

The news follows Amazon’s decision to block Aussie consumers from its international websites come July 1st, and intensifying competition against rival eBay.

Australia is set to be the second country to receive eBay Plus, a paid membership service providing customers unlimited deliveries and returns from local sellers.

To further entice customers, Amazon Australia is offering a $20 voucher to new shoppers, for their first order over $79 (eligible items).

Customers may also benefit from free delivery on eligible orders above $49.

NAB credit card users are also set to receive a maximum cashback of $150 during June on eligible Amazon purchases (Full T&Cs on NAB’s website).

The news comes as Amazon Australia makes its way towards 50,000 sellers by the end of the year. The e-commerce site currently features above 10,000 sellers and around sixty million products – many from international sellers.
