Off the back of their recent partnership with JB Hi-Fi and ahead of their planned Australian expansion, Amazon have launched their Kindle Unlimited service for local customers.
The service, which allows customers to read as much as they want from over one million Kindle titles, will cost users $13.99 a month. Essentially, it’s Netflix-for-Books.
“Readers around the world have shown how much they love using Kindle Unlimited and they are finding more books inside and outside the service as a result. We are delighted to now offer Australian customers access to this vast selection of titles, ranging from modern fiction, to timeless classics all for just $13.99 a month,” said David Naggar, vice president, Kindle.
“For less than the cost of a best-selling paperback, readers now have unlimited access to over one million titles, allowing them to discover new authors and books, including top sellers and tens of thousands of inspiring stories from local authors.”
Amazon are offering signups for a 30-day free trial for the service as of today. It can be used through their Kindle App on Android and iOS handsets or on dedicated Kindle devices, now sold through JB Hi-Fi.
The Kindle (RRP $109) and the Kindle Paperwhite (RRP $179) are both available now in selected JB Hi-Fi stores or at www.jbhifi.com.au
