Amazon Web Services has disabled infrastructure and accounts linked to Israeli surveillance organisation NSO.

According to Vice, NSO used spyware to hack the smartphones of 37 journalists, human rights activists and government officials.

NSO denied the claims, saying its product is intended for government officials to fight crime.

“When we learned of this activity, we acted quickly to shut down the relevant infrastructure and accounts,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement on Monday.
