Apple says its iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are still available for sale in China, despite Beijing’s intellectual property regulators barring their sales, claiming they infringe a patent held by a Chinese company.

Shenzhen Baili, a little-known start-up, was awarded an injunction against sales of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in Beijing, based on a patent covering smartphone design.

“We appealed an administrative order from a regional patent tribunal in Beijing last month and, as a result, the order has been stayed, pending review by the Beijing IP Court,” Apple said. It noted that the order had been stayed pending appeal and said sales had been unaffected.
