SAN FRANCISCO: Yesterday’s change at the top of Amazon didn’t dent its latest quarterly report, which saw Amazon Web Services record 28 percent revenue growth in Q4.

AWS remains the market leader for cloud computing and storage that companies, governments and schools use to run websites and applications.

Revenue at AWS climbed to US$12.7 billion from $9.95 billion a year earlier.

AWS continued to drive much of Amazon’s profit.

Operating income increased 37 percent from a year earlier to $3.56 billion, which means 52 percent of the company’s operating income can be attributed to AWS.
