Product Safety Australia has recalled a variety of outdoor Christmas rope lights from Ausway Pacific, sold nationally from e-tailers such as kogan.com, crazysales.com.au and mydeal.com.au.

Some of the Taizhou Fangkai Lighting branded lights feature faulty controllers, with incorrect wiring presenting an electric shock risk from exposed wires.

Affected SKUs include; FK-4M-C88, FK-21M-C200, FK-25M-C240 and FK-9M-C70.

Consumers with controllers marked model number “D1222” are advised to unplug and cease using the lights immediately, and to contact Ausway Pacific Pty Ltd on (03) 9548 0224 for a full refund or replacement.

The lights were sold nationally between 1 October and 12 November 2018, with further information on Product Safety Australia’s website here.
