Facebook is advertising on LinkedIn for a strategic partner manager to “collaborate with some of the biggest newsrooms across Australia and New Zealand” and “implement strategic partnership plans around Facebook products, tools and services.”

The successful applicant will be required to help a diverse range of news organisations “develop innovative social experiences on Facebook,” and will require “a sophisticated knowledge of the news industry, its content strategies and business models, and the ability to devise and execute programs that add value to the goals of Facebook and our media partners”.

If this sounds like you, sorry – you might just be too late. On August 13 the ad said Facebook was no longer accepting applications, having already received 89 in total. – Stuart Corner
