Facebook is reportedly working on a video-calling set top box designed to turn a normal TV into a video phone.

The Information reports the social media behemoth has approached Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Walt Disney, and Amazon in the hopes of getting their streaming video on demand apps included on the new device, code-named Catalina.

It’s expected Catalina would use the same technology as Facebook’s existing Portal device, an Alexa powered video phone.

But Catalina would also include a remote control and streaming services to challenge other devices like the Apple TV.
