Garmin has announced the Approach R10 launch monitor, a golf simulator monitor that can offer up detailed swing metrics, ball flight trajectory and speed – combining the features of a launch monitor and a full course golf sim.

This puts it in the sweet spot between a professional-grade full simulation set up, and a cheaper GPS device.

The R10 monitors club head speed, face angle, path angle, angle of attack, ball speed, launch angle, launch direction, spin axis, spin rate, apex height, smash factor, carry distance, total distance and deviation distance – with a whopping 42,000 virtual courses to play.

It is also record video for those replay moments.

The device is expected to retail for $AUD799.
