Google has found a way to redirect those frustrating and annoying spam calls by sending them to voicemail straight away.

According to 9to5Google once the spam call is sent to voicemail, users will not receive a missed call or voicemail notification but it will appear in the call history.

Before if a spam call came through via the Google phone app the screen would turn red alerting the user of a possible spam number.

So those with an Android will expect this new feature on default Google Phone app in the next couple of weeks. If you have an AndroidOne, Pixel or Nexus the feature is already installed.

Other Android users can install the phone app through the Google Play store.
