Reports say Google might be teaming up with Huawei to develop and release a new tablet, positioned as a successor to the company’s Nexus 7.

According to reputed Twitter leaker Evan Blass, Google has a “Huawei-built 7-inch tablet, with 4GB RAM, on track for release before the end of the year.”

Other reports initially suggested the tablet would be called the Nexus 7P. However, with Google’s own recent manoeuvre from the Nexus branding that may no longer be the case.

These reports say that a new ‘Pixel’ name is set to be attached to Google’s next-generation of products.

Google is expected to show off its upcoming hardware at an event on October 4th.
