Google’s forthcoming Pixel 6 XL smartphone is expected to come with a 5X ultra tele camera, the company’s best zoom lens to date.

This comes from code found in Google’s camera app in the Android 12 beta, with references found to an ‘utlratele’ lens, and numerous mentions of 5X Zoom.

The lens will reportedly have an optical zoom level (how far it can zoom before digitally cropping images) of 4.3X, which trumps the Pixel 4’s 1.4X optical zoom.

Previous leaks suggest the 6 XL will have a 6.71-inch P-OLED display, 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and a 5000mAh battery.

Google is expected to launch this phone in October.
