Technology investor – and keen Tesla electric car fan – Simon Hackett has purchased a 10 percent shareholding in Evoke, a company which operates a chauffeur service using Teslas.

The privately-owned company deployed its fifth Tesla Model S in August and now plans to add three Model X sport utility vehicles (SUVs) by mid 2017. That should suit Hackett, who has said he uses the Evoke service whenever he is in Sydney.

Evoke founder Pia Peterson said Hackett’s investment made it easier for the company to finance its fleet expansion, with plans to move into Melbourne with three cars by the middle of year.
