Harvey Norman has snared exclusive local distribution for Symantec’s new Norton Core router – news which makes Australia the first country outside the US to receive the stylish [and secure] device.

The manufacturer will reportedly expand to other Australian retailers, following ‘Phase 1’ of Norton Core’s launch.

The contemporary looking Norton Core claims to be a secure Wi-Fi router, with enhanced security for connected devices.

Powered by Norton Security, the new ‘Core’ allows users to find out which services could be compromising network security.

Retailing for A$399, Norton’s Core incorporates 1GB of installed RAM, four Gigbit Ethernet ports, three LAN ports, a WAN port and two USB 3.0 ports.

The device is available to pre-order from Harvey Norman online. It comes bundled with a free one-year subscription to Norton Core Security Plus, and will ship from July 29th.

The retailer is also giving away free $100 Harvey Norman gift cards for pre-order buyers.

Norton Core Security Plus 6 offers protection for up to 10 devices (laptops, smartphones, PCs), and notably unlimited IoT devices.
