House of Marley have released a new eco-conscious turntable made of recycled hemp, plastic bottles and silicone rubber.

The Stir It Up turntable “pairs earth-friendly materials with high-quality audio” according to House of Marley, and features a solid bamboo plinth and a solid metal tone arm for “precise sound delivery” alongside a replaceable Audio-Technica cartridge.

A 3.5mm aux cable allows the turntable to connect to speakers and audio systems, while USB connectivity allows records to be recorded onto a computer. A headphone jack at the front of the turntable also enables solo listening.

“The beauty of the Stir it Up lies in its ecological balance. We’re bringing high quality, earth-friendly materials together with innovative design. The result is powerful sound and a stylish look for the new turntable,” said Rohan Marley, Director and Brand Ambassador for House of Marley.

The turntable incorporates recycled silicone rubber dubbed ‘REGRIND’ by House of Marley, along with an up-cycled fabric called ‘REWIND’ which consists of 30% hemp, 30% organic cotton and 40% recycled plastic bottles on the exterior casing. Other environmentally friendly features include formaldehyde-free MDF and recycled aluminium alloy.
