HP revealed details on the unique and cube-shaped Omen X Desktop earlier today.

The company say it will “enable flawless Virtual Reality (VR) and immersive 4K experiences for even the most demanding AAA games.”

It’s certainly got the specs for it. The low-tier version of the package (US$1799) features an i7 Skylake processor, 8GB of RAM, a 2TB hard drive and 256GB SSD and a Radeon RX 480 graphics card.

There’s also a higher tier available that can be kitted out with either dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon R9 Fury X graphics cards.

According to Kevin Frost, HP VP and General Manager for Consumer Personal Systems, “The OMEN X Desktop was built for serious gamers who need fierce performance out-of-the-box in a fully customizable chassis – something not typically available from traditional PC manufacturers.”

HP have released a short video reel below to hype up the machine. See below:

The cube case will be available separately for US$599.

Alongside the Omen X Desktop itself, HP also revealed a mouse, mousepad, keyboard and headset created for the range courtesy of the company’s partnership with SteelSeries.

A curved gaming monitor is expected to complete the set later down the line.
