HP has launched a pair of new Chrome OS devices, alongside a new USB-C monitor certified for Chromebooks.

The HP Chromebook x2 11 is a new detachable powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7c compute platform for cloud-based operating systems and is, according to HP, the world’s first detachable Chromebook with optional 4G LTE.

HP’s Chromebase 21.5 inch All-in-One Desktop is the first with a rotating display; the 21.5-inch full HD touch screen can be set to either portrait or landscape mode, and comes with a split screen feature for viewing multiple pages at once.

Accompanying the new Chrome devices is the HP M24fd USB-C Monitor, which is Works With Chromebook certified and comes with a 65w USB-C cable to connect and power any USB-C capable laptop.

According to Josephine Tan, Global Head and General Manager, Consumer PCs at HP, the new devices are designed to support a hybrid lifestyle.

“HP collaborated closely with Google to optimise our newest platforms, along with curating a superb and secure software and app ecosystem for the best possible experience on Chrome OS devices.

“As a result, we’re expanding our Chrome OS portfolio with the introduction of the HP Chromebook x2 11 and the HP Chromebase 21.5 inch All-in-One as users search for devices that help them seek a more personal, or family friendly experience, in today’s hybrid world,” she said.

No Australian pricing or availability details have been announced, but the Chromebook and all-in-one will retail for $599.99 USD (around $815 AUD) and the monitor for $249.99 USD (around $340 AUD).
