In 2016 Huawei sued Samsung, and now a Chinese judged has ruled that the Korean-based tech giant infringed one of its wireless communications patents.

As part of the ruling, Samsung has reportedly been ordered to cease selling products which utilise the technology in China.

According to Caixin Samsung states it will review the decision and respond “in accordance with” local laws. The company has reportedly been ordered to pay a “small” fee to the court, however, no further monetary charges were made.

Chinese-based Huawei sued Samsung in 2016 for several patent violations in both California and China.

The is not Huawei’s first court case win in China. Last year, the company was awarded about $12 million in damages by the Quanzhou Intermediate People’s Court for IP violations.

Huawei’s Californian case still continues, which asserts that Samsung has infringed on its IP.
