LG Display is reportedly on track to ship 4 million OLED TV panels this year, with the Korean giant already shipping 1.3 million panels during the first half of 2018.

According to Korean news outlet News1 KoreaLG intends to double its OLED TV panel shipment this year – notching around 3.8 million units, versus 1.7 million shipped in 2017.

The news comes as LG Display further ramps up its OLED panel capacity, with a new South Korean plant in Paju set to complete by the end of the year.

Its OLED joint venture facility in Guangzhou China is also scheduled to kick off production in 2019.

By 2020, LG Display is expected to lift its OLED production capacity to 130,000 units/month, up from around 700,000 at current.
