LG is launching the UltraGear Gaming Speaker GP9, an immersive speaker and microphone combo in the form of a soundbar that sits snugly under your screen.

The goal is that this system will replace your headset, providing high-quality audio with microphone technology LG claims will distinguish between your voice and all the other background din.

This “unique echo-cancellation algorithm” is coupled with the Game Genre Optimiser, which switches between two modes to customise your game audio, making for a more immersive and multi-directional sound experience.

The FPS Mode is designed for first-person shooters, while the RTS Mode is best for real-time strategy games, and racing simulations.

There is also a 3.5mm audio jack if you feel naked without the headset squashing your ears.

The LG UltraGear Gaming Speaker GP9 will be rolled out internationally this month.
