SYDNEY: Macquarie Data Centres, which operates five datacentre locations across Australia, says it expects to spend an additional $50 million in coming years to create new jobs.
The company last week announced a “significant customer win” after sealing a contract to provide 10MW of capacity at its Macquarie Park, Sydney, data-centre campus.
Total capex is expected to increase by $40 million to $50 million this financial year, reaching $180 to $200 million. The so-far unnamed contract win is expected to create hundreds of new jobs in the coming year.
