Optus has acquired Australian cyber-security outfit Hivint for $23.3 million as the telco looks to provide more cyber advisory services to business clients.

Melbourne-based Hivint is said to help businesses create security plans, as well as providing support when there are breaches and examining customers’ systems for weaknesses.

The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the year, following regulatory approvals.
