Taiwan’s top PC maker, Acer, says the Asia-Pacific PC market faces uncertainties in 2019, due to Intel’s CPU shortages, and suggests that US-China trade tensions will continue to affect demand.

Acer says it is not pessimistic about its performance in Asia-Pacific in 2019, but will also not be over-optimistic.

It adds that the CPU shortages remain a big issue and says most consumers will prefer to wait for Intel-based machines, rather than those using rival AMD systems.

Acer is the largest gaming brand in Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Singapore and India.
