Philips has accidentally revealed the latest addition to its Hue smart lights, with an Outdoor ‘LightStrip’ briefly spotted on its Netherlands website. The news follows considerable brand growth in Australia, coupled with the rise of the ‘smart home’ era.

Spotted by HomeKit Newsthe Outdoor LightStrip is water-resistant, and like other Hue lights is compatible with its smartphone app.

Philips’ Hue range has continued to grow, with consumers increasingly adopting voice control via Google Home.

Unlike the original LightStrip, the new outdoor version features a diffuse coating to protect LED lights.

The product is reportedly screwed-in via accompanying clips – a deviation form the indoor version’s adhesive tape.

Philips Outdoor LightStrip is tipped to land in two metre and five metre varieties, with pricing and availability yet to be confirmed.

The news follows a major app update for Philips Hue range, coupled with the release of its outdoor lineup.
