| The new iMac, announced overnight, has Intel (4th gen) Core i5/i7 processors, next gen Wi-Fi , faster flash storage and a 1TB hard drive, as standard.
iMac desktop, released today, are ” beautiful, fast and fun ” declared Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior VP of Worldwide Marketing.
“Inside its ultra-thin aluminium enclosure, the new iMac has the latest Intel processors, faster graphics, next generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi and faster PCIe flash storage”.
iMac comes standard with 8GB of memory and a 1TB hard drive, and configured with up to 32GB of memory, 3TB on the hard drive. It also has 2 X Thunderbolt and 4 X USB 3.0 ports, supports next generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi, which is up to three times faster.
The updated 21.5-inch iMac has Intel Core i5 2.7 GHz, Iris Pro graphics. This entry level Apple will cost you $1,599. The higher end 21.5″ and 27″ all-in-ones have Core i5’s (up to 3.4 GHz), NVIDIA GeForce 700 series graphics, double the video memory and up to 40 percent faster, selling for $2,199.
For a real speed machine, iMac can be upgraded to Intel Core i7 up to 3.5 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M series graphics and 4GB of video memory.

| The iMac supports PCIe-based flash storage that makes Fusion Drive and all-flash storage options 50 percent faster. All-flash storage options are now available in configurations up to 1TB.
iMac can be configured with a 1TB or 3TB Fusion Drive, and ships with OS X Mountain Lion.
