Samsung has introduced a way to setup a VPN connection on its Galaxy Note 8 devices to help users keep their phone safe when using unsecure networks such as Wi-Fi hotspots and public Wi-Fi in shopping centres.

The VPN will hide the phone’s real IP address and can make it look as if a user is in another country so they can access its content.

Trusted Reviews has noted this new feature is designed to be a tool for making secure connections that accessing blocked sites and geo-blocked sites.

Right now the VPN feature has been released in the UK, no word on whether or not it will be available in Australia.

For any other Samsung user, there are specific apps people can download to get a VPN.
