Samsung Bixby Speaker May Unveil With Galaxy Note 9

Samsung’s Bixby-powered speaker may be on its way earlier than expected, following claims the company’s first smart speaker will unveil alongside the Galaxy Note 9.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Samsung’s Bixby smart speaker is tipped to launch at its ‘Unpacked’ August 9th event, or just a few weeks after.

Codenamed ‘Lux’ the spherical device is rumoured to incorporate bottom legs and a top light.

Joining the smart speaker market notably later in the game, Samsung’s premium device is tipped to be priced around US$300 (~A$407).

Also rumoured to unveil alongside the Galaxy Note 9 is Samsung’s new smart watch.

Whilst some commentators claim it’s strange Samsung may bundle announcements together, others assert it reflects an expanding ecosystem, providing an opportunity to demonstrate how products work together.

Consumers will have to hold their breath until August for further details.
